Belgrade

Spent a few hours in Skopje waiting to catch a night bus into Serbia. 4 hours was too long. Skopje is ugly and boring. Gaudy statues and monuments at every turn. Looks like it was designed by a less classy Donald Trump. An urban planners nightmare.

Belgrade's not very good looking either, but we like it here much more. Full of life and action. Were staying in a small hostel run by a wild Australian guy who is endlessly entertaining. We took a walking tour, and went to the Tesla museum. Lots of electricity and sweet working models of his inventions. They even have his ashes in a gold ball in the back of the museum. Science nerds dream.
We went out "clubbing" on these terrible floating boat bars. Terrible music, and the worst people. Got to see some live Serbian rap though (not even remotely good).

There is a huge contemporary art museum here, but is empty except for a few lonely statues outside. There website says they have a huge collection... Yet it's clearly abandoned... Where's the art?

We are supposed to leave tomorrow, but exit fest is going on and the lineup Sunday kills, so were heading up to novi sad with our fingers crossed that we can get in...
