kyoto

I like Kyto so much more the second time around. There's something wonderful about the mashing of old and new. Everyone from Japan comes here on vacation to relive the olden days. They rent kimonos and walk around in wooden shoes taking selfies at all the temples.  Our airbnb was a mess though. We booked one room that looked wonderful and got decent reviews, but when we arrived the room was totally different. It was a dump and there was no wifi. The dude totally ignored us so I opened a case on his ass and got all our money back and a MUCH better place to stay for the same price (thank you airbnb, you guys are amazing).

We did some of the main temples, but got “templed out” pretty quick, especially since the weather has been super hot here and our bodies are still not happy with us for climbing Mt. Fuji. Instead of climbing to the top of Inari temple, we found an abandoned shrine down a long bamboo path. Everything was covered in moss and no one was there but us (even though the Inari temple is the most popular one in Kyoto and the rest of the place was packed).

We went on a day trip Nara and hung out with all the deer and the giant buddha. It’s funny to watch all of the people back away in fear while feeding the deer. Sunni and I just treated them like puppy dogs and we got along fine.
