Chiang Mai is a little easier going than bankock. We flew in for only fifty bucks, but the flight was non-stop turbulence. There seemed to be a much higher percentage of tourist to locals. We stayed in a cheap hotel with two pools and awesome free breakfast. The temples here are a little more run down and ancient looking and we had a few opportunities to talk with some monks. There were lots of student parades, but no one would explain what they were for. We also had the once in a lifetime chance to get massaged by women prisoners! The didn't do that good of a job, but it was cheap and fun. They get out in 6 months and get to keep some of the money to start their new lives. We went out to a National part to play in the waterfalls and I slipped and thought I broke my hand. It seems OK now though...
